Congratulations on completing the Trauma-Informed Care Practitioner Training!
The final step toward certification is to write and submit your Personal Narrative Reflection for mentor review.
Our mentors are all certified, active TIC Practitioners and every one of them have been through this exact ritual. Their role is not to judge or criticize, nor is it to grade you for grammar. Instead, they're looking for evidence that you've internalized the concepts of TIC through self-awareness.
Sharing your own personal reflection with a stranger can be anxiety inducing. Rest assured, our mentors take their roles very seriously and will absolutely create a safe, confidential, and trustworthy space for you.
Over and above that, we use an encrypted submission channel so your security and privacy are safeguarded every step of the way.
Upon submission, a mentor will review your narrative and provide feedback within two weeks. If they feel as though a deeper reflection is warranted they will inform you of such.
This is not a pass or fail situation. You will have as many opportunities to revise your narrative as necessary.
"The personal narrative is important as it really allows people to process on paper what is happening internally. Knowing that the people who are reading it are not looking to criticize you is important. I like how mentors are using the personal narrative to encourage, give people additional resources, etc."
